  • Strong UNIX networking skills, including heterogenous environments, networking with PCs and Macintoshes, SQL databases, firewalls, distributed filesystems (NFS, AFS client and server administration) and more.
  • Strong UNIX security experience (Kerberos, ssh, PGP, SSL protocols, incident recovery, infrastructure design, incident detection).
  • Excellent sendmail, majordomo/Mailman, procmail, bind (DNS), MySQL, news (INN), and Web knowledge.
  • Operating system experience (from most to least) with Linux, SunOS, NeXTStep, Solaris, IRIX, HP/UX, OSF/1, Sony NEWS, AIX, AUX, Stardent.
  • Experience with computer-aided drafting, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, video imaging, and computer-aided instruction.
  • Experienced computer programmer in Assembler (8088/8086 family), UNIX and DOS C and C++ (prefer BSD-style), QuickBasic, Lisp, Perl, and ToolBook for Windows.
  • Limited experience with Pascal, Python, CLIPS, FORTRAN 77, and Assembler for the IBM 370.
  • Strong interest and background in computer graphics.
  • Working knowledge of DOS, Microsoft Windows 95/98/2000, Windows NT/XP, and MacOS 9.x/10.x computer operating systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of over 4000 species of herbaceous and woody plant species, both native and introduced.
  • Fluent in French (spoken in home since birth, 6 years formal education).

ACTIVITIES AND HONORS

  • Recognized contributor to many UNIX software efforts including INN, procmail, Mailman, MHonArc, mod_auth_kerb, portsentry, secure bind template.
  • Named to the "Incomplete List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by their Students" during all semesters as an instructor.
  • Member of the Honor Society of Pi Alpha Xi, Beta chapter.
  • Member of the Honor Society of Gamma Sigma Delta, Illinois chapter.
  • Member of the Honor Society of Sigma Lambda Alpha, Psi chapter.
  • Graduated with honors, Bachelor's of Landscape Architecture (BLA).
  • Undergraduate American Society of Landscape Architects Award of Honor recipient.
  • Ryerson Traveling Fellowship First Alternate Award winner.
  • University of Illinois undergraduate Dean's List three of six semesters.
  • Earned rank of Eagle Scout.
